Why Midrand suits fast-moving ops
Midrand founders run on pure pace. From Halfway House tool hire shops to Noordwyk beauty salons, the area’s always a hive come payday or stocktake. Gautrain’s right here, taxi ranks feed in from Ivory Park and Tembisa, and taxis pack Old Pretoria Road at 4pm. That’s why we host weekly ops rituals and chaos-reset sessions at Midrand Business Park (Bay 2), for teams tackling bill runs, pay cycles or a build gone sideways. A Wednesday at 10am, you’ll find a Kosmosdal signage company founder sorting her cash calendar or a Glen Austin engineer updating supplier notes. Light, free-wifi, and reliable parking. If you’ve ever missed a load-shedding alert before a batch run, you’ll appreciate the backup power too.
Getting to our Midrand hub
We’re at Bay 2, Midrand Business Park, just off New Rd. Easy in for those coming from Kyalami, Carlswald, or Olifantsfontein. Drive in via the New Rd entrance, look for the blue lapa roof. Gautrain station’s a ten-minute walk, or there’s always a taxi along Lever Road. Parking’s inside, past the boom (no need to feed a meter, it’s covered by us). For out-of-towners: avoid the Friday 3pm N1 snarl, and if a Highveld storm’s brewing, bring a brolly.
Sessions on offer: ops rituals and resets
We run two main session types here: ops rituals (weekly or ad hoc, always by appointment) and chaos-reset sessions (for when things have gone sideways, like a VAT201 missed or a supplier order muddle). Both are practical. You’ll leave with your process sharper for month-end or the 25th, and a list of actions you can actually use. See our full starter kits if you want a ready-made workflow, or get supplier contacts via our local supplier shortlists if your own has let you down.
Prepare for your session: bring these
Set yourself up for a productive hour. Bring the bits that matter for your type of business. Most local founders arrive with their CIPC reg number, a download of their last month’s bank statement, and their VAT201 reference if they’re registered. If payroll’s on your mind, add your latest EMP201 and at least one payslip. For supplier resets, bring 2-3 recent invoices and any supplier quote you need reviewed. If you’re not sure what’s needed, check our Counter Hour prep list or ask on email before arriving. Don’t forget to charge your laptop (we have plugs, but someone always leaves a charger at home).
- CIPC registration number
- Latest bank statement (PDF or printout)
- VAT201 or EMP201 details if relevant
- Sample invoices and recent quotes
- Device charger and working pen
Timing, power and local quirks
Sessions run by appointment only, please email magic@bizmagic.co.za to book, no walk-ins. We stick to 9am-4pm weekdays, as taxi cut-offs start at 4:30 around Grand Central and the N1’s thick with end-of-day trucks. Generator backup covers load-shedding (we’ve been through Stage 6 in a session before so we know!), but wifi may dip in a heavy thunderstorm. If your business is tied to hourly outwork, ask about the Counter Hour Charm kit before your booking. You can also see other supplier hubs across Gauteng and SA on our supplier hubs map.
