What Counter Hour Charm covers

Counter Hour Charm is your way to secure in-person, one-hour business support at a regional supplier hub. Perfect for owners who need paperwork checked, want supplier leads near Vereeniging, or need a second pair of eyes on a VAT201. It’s practical: bring your queries, documents, or even your numbers, whether you’re running a Vaal River upholstery shop, a Makhanda home bakery or a Richmond Hill courier agency. Sessions are usually one-on-one but we can arrange for specific suppliers to be present if you mention it when you book. For broader background on what we cover in person, see our starter kits, supplier hub locations and weekly ops rituals.

How Counter Hour Charm bookings work

To use Counter Hour Charm, you’ll need to book in advance. Our hubs run by appointment only, mostly Tuesdays and Thursdays during working hours. For example, a Vereeniging furniture restorer wanted help with his SARS eFiling EMP201 and supplier quote comparisons, so he emailed to book two hours at the Sandton hub and brought his paperwork along. Make sure you’re clear about which hub and which support you need. Sessions can include checking municipal permit renewals, prepping export documents for Beitbridge, or reading through your supplier contracts, but we don’t provide on-the-spot legal signoff (that needs an attorney).

Step-by-step booking process

Here’s exactly how to book your hour:

If you’re a Makhanda jam maker heading to the Stellenbosch hub, or a Vereeniging tiler needing supplier options in Gauteng, follow these steps. We’ve kept it simple so you can get back to sorting your month-end or prepping for a Highveld storm in no time.

What to email and when to expect a reply

Send your booking request to magic@bizmagic.co.za. Include these details so we can help you fast. On normal working days, replies go out within 4 business hours. Not on public holidays or weekends though, we all need some time off, and sometimes school holidays or load-shedding slows us down a bit.

  • Your name and your company’s name
  • Which supplier hub (eg. Rosebank, Stellenbosch, Durban, Pretoria, Woodstock, Sandton, Midrand or Makhanda) you want to use
  • Preferred dates and time windows
  • Short reason for your booking (eg. "Need help comparing courier quotes", "Bring March VAT201 paperwork for review")
  • Any paperwork or numbers (eg. quote, bank FICA, CIPC registration, B-BBEE affidavit) you want us to check

If you need to change or cancel, just send a follow-up mail. We’ll confirm by email. If it’s urgent, say your supplier’s threatened to pull a quote, or you’re about to miss a SARS deadline, let us know and we’ll try our best to slot you in, but a same-day spot is a rare thing.

Escalation for trickier support needs

Sometimes a session needs more than just an hour with an ops hand. If your issue stumps us, we’ll refer you to a registered accountant, tax practitioner or legal pro from our regional shortlist, or even set up a supplier chat at your next slot. In one case, a Makhanda cheese maker needed help with a SADC certificate of origin, we matched her with an exporter who’s handled Lebombo border runs before. If we can’t help directly, we’ll guide you on your best next step. See our resources and support page for more details on escalation paths. Oh, and if we ever miss your mail, please nudge us, it happens alot on big regional payroll weeks.
