What kit onboarding helps you do
Kit onboarding is for first-time BizMagic founders who want to get their starter tools up and running with minimum faff. Maybe you’re setting up your first cashflow board in Harrismith, or you need the right CIPC details for your new tile installation gig just north of Fourways. We help you unpack your kit, match the right rituals (like using Cash Spell for those Friday batch payments), and get ready to start proper record-keeping from month one. It’s about removing the guesswork, whether you’re wrangling receipts on the N3 or sorting supplier contacts during a Highveld downpour. Full kit details live here: all kits.
How onboarding works, step by step
You don’t need a finance degree or a lot of free time. To get started, just pick your kit (say Pop-Up Charm if you’re running Saturday market stalls), and then follow these steps. We’ll keep things practical, no jargon or extra fluff:
- Send an email to magic@bizmagic.co.za with your kit’s name (from your invoice or box sticker)
- Include your trading name, person responsible (like “Sipho Dlamini, owner-operator”), and cellphone number
- Attach any startup documents you’ve already got, CIPC registration, latest VAT201 or municipal permit, even just your supplier shortlist
- Mention where you operate (like "Fourways Crossing precinct" or "Harrismith CBD near the old Nando’s")
- List your top three worries or questions about starting with the kit (no judgement, everyone misses a step here or there!)
- If you want to book a ritual, say so, see weekly ops rituals for inspo
What to include in your email
For fastest help, make sure your email includes the basics we need. If you’re like the Tasty Tiles team in Harrismith and you miss a detail, no sweat, we’ll reply asking for what’s missing (happens alot on Mondays). Here’s exactly what to put:
- Your kit’s name (e.g. Launch Deck, Supplier Radar)
- Main contact name and cellphone number
- Street address or area where you operate
- Your main business worry right now
- Any setup docs you’ve got handy (photo or scan)
Response times and escalations
On working days (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00), you’ll get a human reply within 5 hours, unless there’s Eskom mischief or loadshedding stage 6. If it’s a public holiday in Gauteng or the Western Cape, allow until the next working day. Some setups, like cash calendar tweaks for December or supplier hub appointments near Fourways, might take a bit longer and we’ll say so upfront. If your question needs a specialist, say you ask about B-BBEE affidavits or a banking FICA pack, we’ll refer you for sign-off by an accountant or tax practitioner. For urgent snags we can’t solve on email, we’ll escalate to a lead operator. You’ll get a next-step update within 24 hours. Still stuck? See full support info or ask about our supplier hubs.
