Who should use Moved

Moved is designed for owner-run businesses with under 20 people who’ve changed location. Maybe you’re a Brits car parts reseller shifting across town to Northam Road, or a Strand-based gelato shop moving closer to the beachfront to catch more Capetonians and their school kids. If you sell to locals, rely on consistent deliveries, or need to keep trading permits and SARS details up to date, Moved sorts the admin. Works for PTYs, sole props, co-ops or family businesses.

We see alot of folks run into trouble after a move, like delayed Eskom connections or missed municipal bills because old addresses linger. Moved brings the focus so your permit, FICA and supplier records all reflect your new place before the next month-end stress. For teams managing shifting stock, supplier visits or permit renewals, it gives you a hold on the basics without dropping the ball.

How the work flows

We run a tidy sequence to keep things moving. You get a checklist upfront, then we guide you through each key update or application. That means no standing in three queues before breakfast, or realising your bank FICA pack is out of date the Friday before the 25th payday hits.

  • Confirm your new physical trading address, proof of occupancy and contact person.
  • Update CIPC records (for PTYs) and SARS eFiling registered details with the correct new address. Prepare a supporting Residence Affidavit if needed.
  • Amend your municipal trading permit or informal trader licence, collecting the right water and electricity documents from your new account.
  • Notify and update supplier accounts, from bulk couriers to the local laundry. Re-issue FICA packs for your primary bank account if required.
  • Communicate the move to your customer list. Provide a fresh tax invoice with amended details by the first Monday after relocation.
  • Reprint signage and update Google Maps and Takealot pickups, if applicable.
  • Double check utility accounts to avoid double billing from your old and new addresses.

Here’s how a typical BizMagic Moved support package runs, step by step.

Which kits Moved includes

We use the Launch Deck, Supplier Radar and Invoice Charm in this solution. Launch Deck helps with address change checklists, supporting documents and key contacts. Supplier Radar handles supplier notifications, municipal paperwork and bulk account updates. Invoice Charm ensures your customer comms and tax invoices reflect your correct new details, down to the right VAT201 submission if you're VAT registered.

Some teams also add weekly ops rituals to stay on track with shared admin tasks, especially if you’re splitting time between old and new sites for a handover week or two.

Brits to Strand: a worked example

Picture Lesedi Panel & Paint, a five-person shop moving from Brits industrial area to a new spot outside Strand. The bank needs a signed lease, a fresh utility bill for FICA, and the Strand municipality asks for updated insurance and proof of address for the trading permit. Courier suppliers must be told before the next Thursday cut-off, as parts still come via Pretoria. Their accountant submits a SARS Change of Registered Particulars form online with eFiling, supported by the BizMagic-provided address affidavits. Within ten days, invoices and permits all show the new Strand address, and Eskom switches over in time for their Highveld clients’ next delivery run.

Other businesses, like Zama’s Koeksisters in central Strand, use Moved to update their supplier list after shifting down Beach Road for better early morning foot traffic. With a set checklist and the supplier shortlist, no one’s forgotten in the rush.

How to get started

To get started, email magic@bizmagic.co.za. Mention Moved, your new and old addresses, and one contact person (for paperwork handover). We’ll reply with a short intake list and a quote. No web forms or cold calls. For more about our approach, have a look at our team story or review the full toolkit. If you want the admin shared out on a rhythm, weekly cadences keep the work moving after you’ve settled in.
